TYPICAL MID-WALL SPLIT TYPE INSTALLATIONS

Back to Back (within 3 Meters)

Mid wall split units typically have an inside unit (evaporator) which is installed ‘mid-wall’ hence the name.  They get the name “split units” from the way they are installed, the evaporator or ‘indoor unit’ is mounted inside  and the ‘condensor’ or external unit is typically mounted within 3m directly behind the indoor unit on an exterior wall.

Split type air conditioners are usually the most cost-effective way of cooling separate rooms in a house or office except where there are large open plan areas to be cooled/heated. Generally speaking

INCLUDES

Evaporator (indoor- unit) mounted to inside wall of room / office.

Condenser (outdoor-unit) mounted onto a set of brackets, on same outside wall within a 3 meter radius from evaporator (indoor-unit).

Condenser (outdoor-unit) mounted on floor within 3 meters from inside.

Installation time approximately 2-3 hours.

Installation options only available for Gauteng (Johannesburg, Pretoria and surrounding areas).

EXCLUDES

In case of condensation water not able to not drain freely from indoor unit (Evaporator) to outside, a condensation pump will be required at an extra charge.

Electrical connections for air-conditioners over and above a 12000BTU air conditioner must have a dedicated isolator/circuit breaker due to the higher amperage / current draw that the bigger (18 000Btu and above) machines use

Dedicated power supply to the distribution board. (electrician required)

Installation outside Gauteng areas, which will be quoted for as travel expenses

All required materials more than 5 meters to be charged separately per meter thereafter.

OTHER INSTALLATIONS

In the case of offices or factories who require Cassette units or ducted type air conditioning systems, the onsite technician will advise the type of installation best suited for the office/home /factory conditions

CASSETTE TYPE SPLIT SYSTEMS

Cassette split units /system needs to be (attached /installed) to a ceiling. They get the name “split units” from the way they are installed, the evaporator or ‘indoor unit’ is mounted inside  and the ‘condensor’ or external unit is typically mounted within 5-20m of the indoor unit on an exterior wall.

They get the name “split unit/system” from the way they are constructed – with half of the unit mounted into a ceiling inside the home / office, and the other half mounted outside.

INCLUDES

Evaporator (indoor unit) mounted to ceiling of room / office.

Condenser (outdoor-unit) mounted onto a set of brackets, on an outside wall within 5 meters from evaporator (indoor-unit).

Condenser (outdoor-unit) mounted on floor within 5 meters from evaporator (indoor-unit).

Cassette split units / systems are manufactured with a built-in condensation pump and therefore do not require a free running drain line to the outside of the room/office.

Installation time approximately 2-3 hours.

Installation options are usually only Gauteng based, please enquire if outside (Johannesburg, Pretoria and surrounding areas).

EXCLUDES

Electrical connections for air-conditioners to be carried out by a qualified electrician from distribution board (not included in installation charges).

Installation outside Gauteng areas.

PLEASE NOTE:

Where the client requires an extended pipe system or the installation typically does not allow a close (3m) connection system we will quote / charge on a per metre basis thereafter.
